Happy New Year...

...everybody. My new years resolution consists of putting lots of effort into eating out less by cooking healthful meals at home. It's just too easy to stop by a fast food place on the way home. Grocery shopping alone seems to take forever...and forget about making a list.

Anywho, I'm doing really well so far. If I can make four meals a week and feed the fam on the weekends, I we should all get away with plenty of extra dollars in our pockets and a few pounds less on our ribs. :0)

Studio time has been limited...that's the sad news. I'm trying to pick things back up, because I have lots of new ideas I'd love to try. My latest works include more items of my forest stones series. I just love how the leaf rocks are turning out and they are so easily personalized. Next will be some flower stones...

picking it back up

Sorry blog, I have abandoned you! No excuses, really, just not taking any time to stop and write a little. Hopefully, I can get better and begin to add some meaningful entries and fun pictures.

Sadly, my most exciting news has been a new set of great shelves in my studio space. Just getting clutter out of my work area has been such a relief. It seems that my productivity has risen at least 40 percent just because of this.

Clean up time

I remember singing the little clean up song to my children when they were little...now I'm using it to get me motivated to get some order into my studio. I just started re-organizing things. Looks like I need to get a lot more done in terms of creating new storage options and making thinks functional. One of my biggest problems are all of my paint bottles. What to do, what to do?

OK, I cannot leave without posting my fun cantaloupe guy. Out at the grocery, some giant cantaloupes caught my eye. Since they were on sale, I decided to get one, hoping that they still had somewhat of an aroma. Once at the house, my little one was in dire need of a snack and what better to offer than some wonderful fresh fruit? In order to avoid cutting up the entire cantaloupe, I decided to just cut out a slice...and there he was. I ran into the craft room and searched for some button eyes and a teddy bear nose--voila. Say hi to Gregor! Too bad he won't be with us much longer...

Getting ready for the rain...

The sky is turning dark and there is the occasional sprinkle indicating a downpour later on. What better to do than to check on the online comunity and update things a little. I ran out of rocks to paint and hope to get some more this weekend. In the meantime, I will twist up some more button flowers to pass my time. Staying busy will keep me out of trouble :)

Back to School...already?

As we are nearing the month of August, my thoughts have been revolving around back to school. Markers, pencils and paper have always been some of my favorites. However, I also love to organize and keep my things in order and like fun supplies to help me do so. This is probably how I came up with the idea to create some fun clip boards. Finding and selecting papers has been a lot of fun. Aren't these cute? I have started using them a lot at home and plan to use them at work as well. There should be no excuse for ever using a boring grey clipboard again. :-)
